Anniversary event - 75 years of the Association of German Professional Boxers
Dear club members,
dear boxing friends,
The year is 1949 - a year of historical significance for Germany. While the Basic Law was signed in Bonn and the Federal Republic of Germany came into being, another milestone of sporting historical relevance took place in Berlin-Charlottenburg: the founding of the Association of German Professional Boxers (BDB).
We are now facing an equally significant moment, as the BDB will be able to look back on an eventful 75 years of history in May 2024. We would like to celebrate this anniversary with a very special event in Hamburg - a gala evening that not only allows us to look back on great successes, but is also a sincere thank you to all those who have made boxing what it is today with passion, dedication and heart and soul.
You are cordially invited to be part of this unforgettable gala. Together we would like to pay tribute to 75 years of boxing history, which has produced outstanding personalities such as Max Schmeling, Manfred Zielonka, Ralf and Graciano Rocchigiani, René Weller and Henry Maske.
We are proud to have Til Schweiger as a patron for our anniversary. His commitment underlines the esteem and importance that the BDB has gained over the years.
Of course, entertainment should not be neglected at an anniversary of this size. Renowned artists will delight the gala guests with a varied program. We will keep you up to date with further details in the coming weeks.
We would also like to invite you to the Welcome Party at the Hofbräu Wirtshaus Esplanade on the evening before the anniversary gala. A relaxed evening in a convivial atmosphere to share the anticipation of the anniversary event and make initial contacts.
It would be a special pleasure for us to welcome you all to Hamburg in May 2024. Let's experience an evening together that not only celebrates the past, but also strengthens the bond between us in boxing.
With sporting greetings,
Your Thomas Pütz
President of
Association of German Professional Boxers (BDB)
